I am developing a full range of theory lessons to support the new AQA design technology GCSE 9-1. There are 30 lessons that are taught one a week throughout Y10.
Each lesson has learning objectives, starter/bell task, content (GIF’s used to support learning), plenary and summary slides in PowerPoint. I have also included a fully supported student handout which includes homework questions and summative assessment section.
To support the theory lessons I have uploaded, please download my pupil tracker sheet.
As well as theory lessons I have uploaded project/skills learning journeys that can be easily customised to the projects you are delivering.
All content is fully branded and is graphically consistent.
Please check out my other resources and give feedback if you find my resources helpful.
If there are any missing video links, please contact me and I will send.
I have created a spreadsheet that can be used to track pupils progress through the AQA NEA project. All you need to do it is insert students names and target grades. Once a score for each section is added it will automatically calculate a score then (using the look up sheet) insert an equivalent level and RAG rate appropriately. Please note that the grade boundaries can be easily changed on the look up sheet. I also predict scores for each section based on prior performance e.g. if they achieve 8/10 for section 1 I will assume they will perform similarly on subsequent sections so i will give them 8/10 for section 2 and 16/20 for section 3 and so on. , this makes it quick and easy to see expected outcomes. I find this very helpful to motivate students.
I have created an introduction lesson for use when delivering the new AQA NEA courswork task. I have stated the contextual challenges and unpacked them with a slant towards Graphics. However the structure can easily be tweaked to focus on any material base. Please see me other NEA documents for a complete picture of the work I do.
12 Lesson project that will give students a sound understanding of the main workshop skills involved in forming, wasting and fabricating polymers, metals and woods. Students will learn how to cut, bend and screw thread metals, laser cut polymers, shape and finish wood to create a accurate and usable product.
Each lesson has a starter, lesson objectives and a plenary that build through the project. Comprehensive set of ‘job cards’ are provided which include all manufacturing specification details.
Look out for my other AQA theory lessons and SOW that compliment this project.

The complete plan for delivery of the AQA DT 9-1 GCSE. Contains intent statements, marking policy and overviews, as well as structured breakdown of the course into Y10 training projects and associated theory topics and Y11 NEA. This document supports the other resources I have uploaded here. Please see my shop for all related projects and theory lessons.
This is a small wood based project that gives pupils an introduction to wood work whilst developing isometric sketching and Photoshop presentation skills. I use this as part of the new AQA GCSE DT course. It includes all resources needed to deliver successfully. I also have a range of Theory topics available to support this project, please see ‘lesson plan’ document and look in my shop.
Castle Attack is a group work project aimed at giving students a platform to develop and design working prototypes through modeling and trial and error. The aim to to produce a working trebuchet that is able to fire accuratley. Ideal for delivery in KS3 and KS4.
Please look at my other projects that compliment this one.
Series of 9 lessons that deliver training for the examined Unit 3 as part of the new BTEC Tech Award Engineering.
The lessons cover quality control, evaluating products and redesigning. They are designed to give students the skills required to complete the Examination they will sit.
Part of the lessons focus on measuring the quality of a set of 10 Aluminium draw rollers I made, this could be easily changed.
Includes teaching PowerPoint, Student Booklet, Lesson Plans and Learning Objectives/Starters/Plenaries.
Please also see my other lessons that support this qualification, I have the whole course uploaded onto my shop.
